Gil Rimmer is an Art Director and Visual Development Artist in the Animation, Film, and Games industry. He is also a featured Gnomon Instructor. For this workshop, Gil will talk about practicing variety, getting inspired, studying real life and existing styles, and how to generate and maintain style in production. He will use these techniques to create a character and an environment.

Since 2003, Gil has helped to develop several intellectual properties, including working for Rainmaker Entertainment contributing to titles such as Escape From Planet Earth, The Nutty Professor 2, and Tony Hawk. More recently, Gil joined EA’s Cinematic Division in Montreal as Art Director, working on Need for Speed Nitro, The Simpsons on Wii, Army of Two, and an unannounced Next Gen AAA title. Leaving Electronic Arts to partner with Bron Studios as Creative Director and Senior Partner, Gil was key in setting up and developing the animation division. During his tenure at Bron, Gil developed Mighty Mighty Monsters as the Executive Producer, Co-Head Writer and Production Designer.
